Hugh Jackman gets behind Humpty Dumpty children's charity<\/p><\/div>\n

Not for nothing is Australian actor Hugh Jackman<\/strong> considered one of the nicest and most decent blokes in the entertainment industry.<\/p>\n

The Sydney born and bred father of two, who has been married to the equally fabulous Deborra-Lee Furness<\/strong> for the past 14 years, has thrown his weight behind a Sydney children\u2019s charity to celebrate the 10th<\/sup> annual Balmoral Burn fun run<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a coup for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation<\/strong> (which puts kids back together again) Jackman has offered the chance for two people to spend a day on the set of his next film, Real Steel<\/strong>,<\/em> in a bid to raise money at the charity’s upcoming fund-raising event.<\/p>\n

Jackman decided to support the \u00a0charity’s\u00a0Balmoral Burn <\/strong>when he discovered that the community fun run \u2013 which is the brainchild of Wallaby rugby legend Phil Kearns <\/a><\/strong>\u2013 was turning 10 years old.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a world-first for the charity and founder and chairman Paul Francis, OAM<\/strong>, couldn\u2019t be happier or more proud. \u201cHe\u2019s a bloke from Sydney\u2019s north shore and a father of two beautiful children. What could be a more perfect fit than that? After all, the north shore is where Humpty\u2019s story began, and children are what the charity is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Burn has so far raised more than $8 million, which has been spent on buying more than 600 pieces of medical equipment used to save the lives of thousands of sick and injured children across Australia and in East Timor.<\/p>\n

Jackman\u2019s once-in-a-lifetime auction package will take two people behind-the-scenes of a Hollywood film and give them the opportunity to hang out on the set and meet the actor who has been voted the \u201csexiest man alive\u201d by celebrity magazine, People<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Having spent time with Jackman on the set of\u00a0Baz Luhrmann’s<\/strong> epic\u00a0Australia<\/strong><\/em>, I know what fun it will be. Jackman is an absolute champ, a decent bloke with zero airs and graces. What you see is what \u00a0you get.<\/p>\n

Real Steel <\/em>is a futuristic action\/drama and will be shot in Michigan during the northern hemisphere summer.<\/p>\n

Co-starring Lost’s<\/em><\/strong> Kevin Durand<\/strong>, it will be produced by Academy Award winning director Steven Spielberg<\/strong> and Robert Zemeckis<\/strong>, and directed by Shawn Levy<\/a><\/strong>, who helmed the successful box office the Night At The Museum<\/strong> <\/em>series, The Pink Panther, Big Fat Liar<\/strong><\/em> and Date Night<\/a><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Jackman auction\u00a0package will be up for auction at the Balmoral Burn Sponsor\u2019s Dinner on Friday 28 May. Bids can be made by phone on the night through prior arrangement with Humpty.<\/p>\n
